Tanishq Singh, popularly known by his stage name Paradox, is one of the notable young voices in India's desi hip-hop scene. Born on October 24, 2003, in Najafgarh, Delhi, he developed an interest in music and creative arts at a young age. He learned to play guitar and began exploring different forms of music during his school years.
Paradox discovered hip-hop as a teenager and began writing rap lyrics. His interest gradually turned into a serious musical pursuit. He participated in online rap challenges and collaborated with artists from India and Nepal before getting his biggest opportunity on television.
His breakthrough came with MTV Hustle 2.0 in 2022. Competing under Badshah's mentorship, Paradox impressed viewers with his distinctive flow, energetic performances and clever wordplay. He eventually finished as the first runner-up, while MC Square won the season.
Songs such as “Jaadugar,” “Rihaayi,” “BT Ho Gayi,” “Babam Bam” and “Gang Wale Munde” helped establish his identity beyond the reality show. His debut project The Unknown Letter further showcased his ability to combine melodic elements with rap. Paradox has said that his stage name was inspired by the word “Paradox,” which he encountered while listening to Badshah's Heartless.
