Biography

Prakash Raj, born on 26 March 1965 in Bangalore, Karnataka, is a renowned Indian actor, producer, director, and television presenter. He began his career in theatre and Kannada television before transitioning to films in the late 1980s. His breakthrough came with Tamil cinema, where he established himself as a powerful performer in films like Duet (1994). Over the years, he has acted in more than 400 films across multiple languages including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, and even English, earning acclaim for his versatility in both villainous and character roles.

He is the recipient of numerous awards, including five National Film Awards, eight Nandi Awards, eight Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, six Filmfare Awards South, and several others. Beyond acting, Prakash Raj has produced and directed films, and is also active in social and political spheres.
