Biography

Radikaa Sarathkumar was born on 1962-08-21 in Colombo, Sri Lanka, to legendary actor M. R. Radha. She grew up in Chennai and pursued her education both in India and the UK. She made her acting debut in Kizhakke Pogum Rail (1978), directed by Bharathiraja, which established her as a promising actress. Over the years, she became one of the most versatile performers in South Indian cinema, working in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi films.

Beyond films, Radikaa has been a pioneer in television, founding Radaan Mediaworks, which produced iconic serials like Chithi, Annamalai, and Vani Rani. She has won numerous awards including a National Film Award, six Filmfare Awards South, and multiple state honors. In addition to her entertainment career, she has been active in politics, previously associated with DMK, AIADMK, and AISMK, and currently a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (since 2024).
