Rakesh Bedi is a veteran Indian actor celebrated for his versatility across film, television, and theatre. Born on 1 December 1954 in New Delhi, Rakesh Bedi developed a passion for performance early in life, participating in mono-acting competitions during his school years at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Andrewsganj. He later trained at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), which laid the foundation for his long and successful career. Bedi made his film debut in Hamare Tumhare (1979) and quickly became known for his impeccable comic timing in classics like Chashme Buddoor (1981) and Mera Damad (1985).

Over the decades, he has appeared in numerous films, balancing comedy with character-driven roles, and in 2025 he earned widespread acclaim for his dramatic performance in Dhurandhar.
