Rhea Chakraborty, born on 1 July 1992 in Bangalore, Karnataka, is an Indian actress and former video jockey who primarily worked in Hindi films. She began her career in 2009 as a contestant on MTV India’s TVS Scooty Teen Diva, where she finished as the first runner-up. Soon after, she was selected as a VJ for MTV Delhi and went on to host several shows including Pepsi MTV Wassup, TicTac College Beat, and MTV Gone in 60 Seconds. Rhea made her acting debut in the Telugu film Tuneega Tuneega (2012) and entered Bollywood with Mere Dad Ki Maruti (2013). She later appeared in films such as Sonali Cable (2014), Bank Chor (2017), and Jalebi (2018).
Born into a Bengali family, Rhea’s father, Indrajit Chakraborty, served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Army, and she completed her schooling at Army Public School, Ambala Cantt.
