Rimi Sen began her career in regional cinema, debuting in the Telugu film Nee Thodu Kavali (2002). She rose to fame with her Hindi film debut in Hungama (2003), which earned her multiple nominations for Best Female Debut at Filmfare, IIFA, and other awards. Following this, she starred in several commercially successful films such as Baghban (2003), Dhoom (2004), Garam Masala (2005), Kyon Ki (2005), Phir Hera Pheri (2006), and Golmaal: Fun Unlimited (2006).
