Rishab Shetty, born Prashanth Shetty on 1983-07-07 in Keradi, Karnataka, India, is an acclaimed Indian actor, director, producer, and screenwriter in Kannada cinema. Fondly called Rishab, he is best known for his directorial and acting work in Kantara (2022), which became a pan-Indian phenomenon and earned him the National Film Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role.
He began his career with small roles, debuting as an actor in Tuglak (2012) and gaining recognition in Ulidavaru Kandante (2014). His directorial debut came with Ricky (2016), followed by the blockbuster Kirik Party (2016), which won him the Filmfare Award for Best Director – Kannada and the SIIMA Award for Best Director. He later directed Sarkaari Hiriya Praathamika Shaale, Kaasaragodu, Koduge: Raamanna Rai (2018), which won the National Film Award for Best Children’s Film.
