Ronjini Chakraborty was born on 1992-02-24 in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. Coming from a middle-class Bengali family, she was trained in Indian classical music for seven years during her adolescence. Although her mother wanted her to pursue singing, Ronjini was drawn to acting. She began her journey in theatre while studying at Lady Brabourne College, Kolkata, where she graduated with a degree in History Honours. She joined the theatre group Theatrecian and performed in plays like The Lesson, No Exit, and The Goat. Later, she enrolled at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune to refine her acting skills.
Her film debut came with the Bengali movie Abosheshey (2011), followed by her Bollywood debut in From Sydney with Love (2012). She gained recognition through impactful roles in Tumbbad and Article 15, which showcased her versatility. Ronjini has also appeared in popular web series such as TVF Pitchers and Raktanchal. With her strong theatre background and nuanced performances, she has carved a niche in both mainstream and independent cinema.
