S. Chelladurai

Biography

R. S. G. Chelladurai, born R. Samuel Gnanadoss Chelladurai, began his acting journey in church acting troupes before moving into theatre. Alongside his passion for acting, he worked at the government headquarters as his day job. His dedication to theatre eventually led him to cinema, where he debuted in B. Lenin’s Ooruku Nooruper (2003).

He later collaborated with director S. Shankar in films like Anniyan (2005), Sivaji (2007), and Nanban (2012). His breakthrough came with Theri (2016), where his portrayal of a grandfather figure was widely appreciated. Chelladurai continued acting until his passing in 2021, leaving behind a legacy of warm, supportive roles that resonated with audiences.
