Biography

Sakshi Tanwar began her career in 1996 as a television presenter on Doordarshan’s Albela Sur Mela. Her breakthrough came in 2000 with Ekta Kapoor’s Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, where she played Parvati Agarwal, a role that ran for eight years and made her one of the most recognizable faces on Indian television. She later starred in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain (2011–2014) opposite Ram Kapoor, which further cemented her reputation as a leading actress.

Beyond television, Sakshi made her Bollywood debut with O Re Manva (2006) and gained acclaim in Dangal (2016) alongside Aamir Khan. She has also starred in OTT series such as Mai: A Mother’s Rage (2022), which won her the Filmfare OTT Award for Best Actress (Critics). Known for her versatility, she continues to balance mainstream cinema, television, and digital projects.
