Sanaya Irani was born and raised in Mumbai. She studied at a boarding school in Ooty before completing her graduation in commerce from Sydenham College. Initially, she worked as a model and appeared in commercials before making her acting debut in Fanaa (2006) in a supporting role. Her television breakthrough came with Miley Jab Hum Tum (2008), where she met her future husband Mohit Sehgal.
She rose to immense popularity with Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon (2011), playing Khushi Kumari Gupta opposite Barun Sobti. The show became a cultural phenomenon and established her as one of Indian television’s most beloved actresses. Sanaya has also participated in reality shows like Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and Nach Baliye, showcasing her dancing skills.
