Sandra Bullock

Facts

Sandra Bullock was born into a musical family — her mother, Helga Meyer, was a German opera singer, and her father, John Bullock, was a voice coach.

She spent much of her childhood in Nürnberg, West Germany, where she often performed in children’s opera choirs and occasionally appeared in her mother’s productions.

Before becoming famous, she worked odd jobs including bartender, cocktail waitress, and coat checker while pursuing acting in New York.

Her breakthrough role came with the blockbuster Speed (1994), opposite Keanu Reeves, which catapulted her to international fame.

Despite her success in Hollywood, she remains deeply involved in philanthropy, supporting children’s welfare and education initiatives.

She is fluent in German, thanks to her upbringing in Europe.
