Biography

Selvaraghavan Kasthuri Raja, born on 1975-03-05 in Theni, Tamil Nadu, India, is the elder son of director Kasthuri Raja and brother of actor Dhanush. He began his career with the film Thulluvadho Ilamai (2002), though his father was credited for business reasons. His breakthrough came with Kadhal Kondein (2003), starring Dhanush, which established him as a director with a unique vision. Over the years, he directed acclaimed films such as 7G Rainbow Colony (2004), Pudhupettai (2006), Aayirathil Oruvan (2010), and Mayakkam Enna (2011).

Beyond direction, Selvaraghavan has acted in films, debuting in Beast (2022). His career reflects versatility, spanning romance, drama, fantasy, and science fiction. Known for his uncompromising style, he has built a loyal audience who admire his raw, emotional narratives.
