Sohum Shah was born on 1983-06-15 in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, India. Before entering films, he established himself in the real estate business and later moved to Mumbai to pursue his passion for cinema. His debut came in 2009 with Baabarr, where he played the antagonist. He gained recognition as a producer with Ship of Theseus (2012), which won a National Award, and later acted in films like Talvar (2015) and Simran (2017).
His breakthrough performance came with Tumbbad (2018), where he played Vinayak Rao, a role that earned him critical acclaim for his intense portrayal of greed and human flaws.
