Sundar C began his career in Tamil cinema in the early 1990s, initially working as an assistant director before making his directorial debut. His breakthrough came with Ullathai Allitha (1996), a comedy that became a massive hit and established him as a director of commercial entertainers. Over the years, he directed films like Arunachalam (1997), Unnai Thedi (1999), and Anbe Sivam (2003), showcasing his ability to balance comedy, drama, and social themes.
In addition to directing, Sundar C has acted in several films, often appearing in lead roles in his own projects. His Aranmanai series (2014–2024) became one of the most successful horror-comedy franchises in Tamil cinema. Married to actress Khushbu Sundar since 2000, he continues to be a major force in Kollywood, contributing as a director, actor, and producer, with upcoming projects like Madha Gaja Raja (2025).
