Biography

Swati Sen is an Indian actress who carved a niche for herself in parallel and independent cinema. Born in Nagpur, Maharashtra, she developed an interest in acting during her college years at Miranda House, Delhi, where she actively participated in dramatics and street plays. Her passion for performance led her to pursue formal training at the prestigious Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune.
 

Her breakthrough came with Udedh Bun (2008), a short film that won the Silver Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival. This recognition placed her on the global stage. She further cemented her reputation with Antardwand (2010), a National Award-winning film that tackled the issue of forced marriages in Bihar. Her portrayal was widely praised, earning her the Best Actress award at MAMI.
 

Swati has also appeared in films like It’s Breaking News (2008), showcasing her versatility across genres. Though not as prolific in mainstream Bollywood, she remains respected for her powerful performances in socially relevant cinema. Married to Devaditya Prasad, Swati balances her personal life with her artistic pursuits. She continues to be admired as an actress who brings authenticity and depth to her roles.
