Teja Sajja

Biography

Teja Sajja is a Telugu film actor who has had an unusual journey in Indian cinema, beginning his career as a child artist before establishing himself as a lead actor. According to multiple reliable biographical sources, he was born on 23 August 1995 and grew up in Hyderabad. He entered the film industry when he was only two years old, making his debut as a child artist in Choodalani Vundi (1998).

As a child artist, Teja appeared in numerous Telugu films and had opportunities to share screen space with major stars including Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh, Prabhas, Mahesh Babu, N. T. Rama Rao Jr., Pawan Kalyan and Allu Arjun. His early filmography included movies such as Kalisundam Raa, Yuvaraju, Indra, Tagore, Gangotri, Samba, Chatrapathi and Balu. His extensive experience as a child performer gave him considerable familiarity with film sets and acting from a very young age.

After taking a break from acting, Teja returned to the industry as an adult performer. He appeared in the supporting role of Ramakrishna “Rocky” in Oh! Baby (2019), which marked an important step in his transition from child artist to adult actor. His first major lead role came with Prasanth Varma's Zombie Reddy in 2021. The film became notable as one of Telugu cinema's early zombie-themed films and helped establish Teja as a promising young lead.

Teja subsequently appeared in films including Ishq: Not a Love Story and Adbhutham. However, his biggest breakthrough came with Hanu-Man, directed by Prasanth Varma. Released in 2024, the superhero film became a major commercial and cultural success and brought Teja considerable recognition beyond Telugu cinema. His portrayal of Hanumanthu significantly raised his profile as a leading actor.

Teja continued his association with large-scale fantasy and superhero-oriented cinema with Mirai, released in 2025. His career trajectory—from child artist to supporting performer and eventually a leading actor—has made him one of the notable younger faces of Telugu cinema. He has also received recognition at awards including the South Indian International Movie Awards and Filmfare Awards South.
