Biography

Agastya Nanda, born on 23 November 2000 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, is an emerging Indian actor and the grandson of Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan and actress Jaya Bachchan. He is the son of businessman Nikhil Nanda and author Shweta Bachchan Nanda, and the younger brother of entrepreneur Navya Naveli Nanda. Agastya completed his schooling at Sevenoaks School in London, where he developed a keen interest in arts and performance. Despite belonging to one of the most illustrious film families in India, he initially kept a low profile before stepping into the entertainment industry.

 

Agastya made his highly anticipated Bollywood debut in 2023 with Zoya Akhtar’s Netflix film The Archies, where he played the role of Archie Andrews. His performance was praised for its charm and screen presence, marking him as a promising newcomer in Hindi cinema. In 2025, he is set to star in Ikkis, directed by Sriram Raghavan, portraying the real-life war hero Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee. This role is expected to showcase his acting depth and versatility, moving beyond youthful characters into serious, historical storytelling. With his strong lineage, international education, and growing filmography, Agastya Nanda is steadily carving his own identity in the Indian film industry.
