Aparajita Mohanty is a veteran Indian actress known for her remarkable contributions to the Odia film industry. Born on January 31, 1962, in Karanjia, Odisha, she has been a prominent figure in regional cinema for over four decades, earning widespread acclaim for her performances.

Aparajita began her acting career in 1980 with Sita Labakusha, marking the start of an illustrious journey in Ollywood. Over the years, she has starred in more than 70 films, portraying diverse roles that showcase her versatility. Some of her most notable films include Danda Balunga (1980), Jaga Hatare Pagha (1985), Sata Kebe Luchi Rahena (1985), and Badhu Nirupama (1987). Her ability to bring depth and authenticity to her characters has made her one of the most respected actresses in Odia cinema.

Apart from films, Aparajita has also made significant contributions to Odia television, appearing in various serials that further cemented her popularity. Her performances have earned her several accolades, including the Odisha State Film Award and the ETV Priya Odia Award.

Beyond acting, Aparajita has been actively involved in politics. She initially joined the Indian National Congress (INC) in 2014, later switching to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2018. She contested the 2019 Assembly elections from the Bhubaneswar North constituency, finishing as the runner-up.

Aparajita comes from a distinguished family. Her father, Abdul Aziz Khan, and mother, Harapriya Ray, supported her artistic aspirations. She is married to Uttam Mohanty, another legendary Odia actor, and their son, Babushaan Mohanty, has followed in their footsteps, becoming a leading star in Odia cinema.
