Athiyan Aathirai is an Indian filmmaker and screenwriter known for his socially conscious storytelling and rooted narratives in Tamil cinema. He made his directorial debut with Irandam Ulagaporin Kadaisi Gundu (2019), often referred to simply as Gundu. Produced by Pa. Ranjith’s Neelam Productions, the film blended elements of drama, satire, and political commentary, following the journey of a lorry driver who unwittingly comes into possession of a World War II bomb.
