Biography
Babushaan Mohanty is a prominent Indian actor and playback singer, primarily known for his work in the Odia film industry. Born as Tanmay Mohanty on July 30, 1989, in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, he hails from a family of celebrated actors—his parents, Uttam Mohanty and Aparajita Mohanty, are well-known figures in Odia cinema.
Babushaan made his acting debut in 2009 with Romeo – The Lover Boy, directed by Hara Patnaik. His performance was well received, and he quickly became a leading star in Odia cinema. Over the years, he has delivered several successful films, including Jie Jaha Kahu Mora Dho (2015), Super Michhua (2015), and DAMaN (2022), where he portrayed a doctor, earning widespread acclaim.
Apart from acting, Babushaan is a trained classical singer, having developed a passion for music from a young age. His versatility as both an actor and singer has made him a beloved figure in Odisha’s entertainment industry.
In 2017, he launched his own production company, Babushaan Films, producing movies like Sunapila Tike Screw Dhila and Phalguna Chaitra (2023). His dedication to cinema has solidified his status as one of the most influential actors in Odia films.
