Balachander and was married to Bala Kailasam, a filmmaker. Initially pursuing a career as a chartered accountant, Geetha later transitioned into the entertainment industry, producing films and television serials under the Minbimbangal production banner.

Her journey in the industry began with her involvement in television soap operas, including Anni and Sahana, which were directed by K. Balachander.
