Biography
Imran Khan, born on 13 January 1983 in Madison, Wisconsin, USA, is an American actor of Indian origin best known for his work in Hindi cinema.
He is the nephew of superstar Aamir Khan and director-producer Mansoor Khan, and the grandson of legendary filmmaker Nasir Hussain, making him part of Bollywood’s influential Khan–Hussain family. Imran appeared as a child artist in classics like Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988) and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar (1992), before making his adult debut in the romantic comedy Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na (2008), which was a critical and commercial success and earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. He went on to star in popular films such as Delhi Belly (2011), Mere Brother Ki Dulhan (2011), Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu (2012), and Katti Batti (2015).
Educated at the New York Film Academy, Imran combined his training with his family’s cinematic legacy to carve his own niche in Bollywood. Beyond acting, he has also directed short films and engaged in social activism. On the personal front, he married Avantika Malik in 2011, with whom he has a daughter, though the couple divorced in 2019. Since 2020, he has been in a relationship with actress Lekha Washington.
Known for his boy-next-door charm and relatable performances, Imran Khan remains a beloved figure in Bollywood, even though he has taken a step back from films in recent years.
