Johny Baweja, born Gurjot Singh Baweja, is an Indian actor, producer, and entrepreneur known for his work in Bollywood. Hailing from Ludhiana, Punjab, he comes from a film-oriented family—his father, Tarlochan S. Baweja, is a producer and distributor.
Early Life & Education
Johny completed his schooling at Guru Nanak Public School, Ludhiana, and later pursued a BCA degree at Apeejay Institute of Management, Jalandhar. Before stepping into films, he honed his acting skills through two years of theater training in Chandigarh and further refined his craft at the Roshan Taneja School of Acting, Mumbai.
Film Career
Johny made his Bollywood debut with the film Swen (2012), followed by his notable role in A Scandall (2016), where he starred alongside Reeth Mazumder. His performance in A Scandall gained attention, though the film itself was surrounded by controversy due to a leaked MMS clip, which was later clarified as a scene from the movie.
In 2017, he appeared in Amira, a film that showcased his versatility as an actor. Apart from acting, Johny is also the founder of "Let’s Ring The Bell," a line production company.
Personal Life & Interests
Johny is passionate about traveling and acting, and he has a deep fondness for dogs. He was also a finalist in Grasim Mr. India 2006, showcasing his early interest in modeling.
