Biography
Jyotica Tangri was born in Jalandhar, Punjab, India, and developed a passion for music from a young age. She pursued a degree in singing and instrumental music at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. Her classical training helped her refine her vocal skills, allowing her to sing in multiple Indian languages as well as English, French, Arabic, and Japanese.
Jyotica gained recognition as a contestant on The Voice India (2015) and later became a finalist on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa (2016). Her playback singing debut came with Behen Hogi Teri (2017), where she sang Jai Maa alongside Sahil Solanki. She rose to fame with the hit song Pallo Latke from Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana (2017), which became a chartbuster.
She continued her success with songs like Mungda (Total Dhamaal, 2019), Surmedaani (Bajre Da Sitta, 2022), and Shubh Din (Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran, 2018). Her contributions to Punjabi music include tracks like Kanda Kacheya, Jinne Saah, and Saari Raat.
Jyotica won the Zee Cine Award for Best Female Playback Singer (2018) for Pallo Latke. Her ability to blend Bollywood and folk influences has made her a sought-after singer in the industry.
With her powerful vocals and diverse repertoire, Jyotica Tangri continues to be a prominent voice in Indian music.
