Biography

Kalyani Priyadarshan, born on April 5, 1993, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, is a talented Indian actress and the daughter of renowned filmmaker Priyadarshan and actress Lissy. Growing up in a household deeply rooted in the film industry, Kalyani was exposed to the world of cinema from a young age. She pursued her higher education in architecture at Parsons School of Design in New York City, where she developed a keen interest in design and visual arts.

Kalyani's career in the entertainment industry began behind the scenes as an assistant production designer. She worked on the Bollywood film "Krrish 3" (2013) and the Tamil film "Iru Mugan" (2016), gaining valuable experience and insight into the filmmaking process. Her passion for acting eventually led her to pursue a career in front of the camera.

She made her acting debut in 2017 with the Telugu film "Hello," directed by Vikram Kumar and starring Akhil Akkineni. Her performance was well-received, earning her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut – South. Kalyani's natural talent and charming screen presence quickly made her a sought-after actress in the South Indian film industry.

Following her successful debut, Kalyani appeared in several notable films across different languages, including the Malayalam film "Varane Avashyamund" (2020) and the Tamil film "Hero" (2019). Her ability to seamlessly adapt to diverse roles and genres has established her as a versatile actress.
