Lakshmy Ramakrishnan is an Indian actress, director, and television host known for her impactful performances and thought-provoking films. Born on December 29, 1965, in Palakkad, Kerala, she initially pursued a career in event management in Muscat, Oman, before transitioning into the film industry.
She made her acting debut in the Malayalam film Chakkara Muthu (2006) and later gained recognition in Tamil cinema with Pirivom Santhippom (2008). Over the years, she has played significant roles in films like Yuddham Sei (2011), Boss Engira Bhaskaran (2010), and Vidiyum Munn (2013), often portraying strong-willed characters.
Beyond acting, Lakshmy Ramakrishnan has made a mark as a director, with films such as Aarohanam (2012), Nerungi Vaa Muthamidathe (2014), Ammani (2016), and House Owner (2019). Her directorial ventures have been praised for their social themes and realistic storytelling, with Aarohanam receiving a Special Jury Award at the 7th Vijay Awards.
