Biography

Mahesh Babu is an Indian actor, producer, media personality, and philanthropist who works in Telugu cinema. He is the son of the celebrated Telugu actor, Superstar Krishna, and is known as the Prince of Tollywood. He has won 21 awards and has been nominated 14 times. Babu has appeared in more than 60 movies, including Okkadu, Athadu Pokiri, Dookudu, Businessman, 1: Nenokkadine, Guntur Kaaram, Sarkaru Vaari Paata, and Maharshi. He is also known for his songs, which include "Madhuram Madhuram", "Oh Pilla Nuv Pooladanda", and "Vacchindi Kada Avakasam". 

Babu was born on August 9, 1975 in Madras, Tamil Nadu, India. He is the fourth of five siblings, and his family hails from Burripalem in Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh. He spent his childhood mostly in Madras under the care of his maternal grandmother Durgamma and the rest of his family. He was educated at St. Bede's Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School, Chennai, and obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Loyola College, Chennai. 

Babu has been married to Namrata Shirodkar since 2005, and they have two children together. He also runs the charitable trust Heal-a-Child.
