Biography

Naresh Vijay Krishna, popularly known as Naresh, is a celebrated Indian actor, politician, and social activist, primarily known for his extensive work in Telugu cinema. Born on January 20, 1963, in Hindupur, Andhra Pradesh, he is the son of legendary actress Vijaya Nirmala and K.S. Murthy. With a career spanning over five decades, Naresh has acted in more than 200 films, earning acclaim for both lead and character roles.

He began his journey as a child artist in the 1970s, debuting in Pandanti Kapuram (1972), and later transitioned to lead roles with the hit Naalugu Stambhalata (1982). Known for his comic timing and versatility, Naresh starred in classics like Rendu Jella Sita, Sri Kanaka Mahalaxmi Recording Dance Troupe, Jamba Lakidi Pamba, and Chitram! Bhalare Vichitram!!. In the 2000s, he reinvented himself as a character actor in films like Mee Sreyobhilashi, Sathamanam Bhavati, Rangasthalam, and Samajavaragamana.

Beyond cinema, Naresh has been active in politics, serving in various leadership roles within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He also led the Movie Artists Association (MAA) and founded KIV (Kalakarula Ikya Vedika), a non-profit supporting artists and preserving traditional arts.

Naresh’s personal life has often been in the spotlight. He has been married four times and is currently married to actress Pavitra Lokesh as of 2023. His son, Naveen Vijay Krishna, has also entered the film industry.
