Biography

Prabhu Deva is an Indian actor, director, producer, and dance choreographer who has worked in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada films. He has won two National Film Awards for Best Choreography and is credited in over 60 movies. His dance moves have earned him the nickname "The Michael Jackson of India". He has also choreographed many popular dance numbers in Bollywood and South Indian cinema. 

Deva was born in Mysore, Karnataka on April 3, 1973. His father, Mugur Sundar, was a well-known choreographer in the South Indian film industry. He made his acting debut in the 1994 Tamil film Indhu and has directed successful films in multiple languages, including the 1994 Tamil film Kaadhalan and the 2015 Hindi film Singh is Bling. 

Deva has also contributed to nurturing talent in the field of dance through his dance school, Prabhu Deva's Dance Academy. 

Deva has three children, but his eldest son died of cancer in 2008. He was married to Ramlath from 1995 to 2010.
