Biography
Priya Shatamarshan was born and raised in Bengaluru, Karnataka. From a young age, she exhibited a keen interest in the performing arts, participating in school plays and local theater productions. Her passion for acting led her to pursue a degree in Performing Arts from a prestigious institution in Bengaluru
Priya comes from a supportive family that has always encouraged her artistic pursuits. Her parents, both professionals in their respective fields, have been her pillars of strength throughout her journey in the entertainment industry.
Priya’s acting career began with small roles in television serials and short films. Her breakthrough came with the movie “Chase in the Dark” (2022), where she played a significant role that showcased her acting prowess. This was followed by her performance in “Churmuri” (2024), which further established her as a talented actress in the Kannada film industry.
Priya gained widespread recognition for her role as Inspector Girija in the 2024 action thriller movie “Bheema,” directed by Duniya Vijay. Her portrayal of a no-nonsense police officer determined to curb drug trafficking and rowdyism in Bengaluru was highly praised. This role has solidified her status as a rising star in Kannada cinema.
