Biography

Rajkiran, born Mohideen Abdul Khadar on March 16, 1949, is a veteran Indian actor, producer, and director known for his contributions to Tamil cinema. He began his career as a film producer, backing two films starring Ramarajan, before stepping into acting. His breakthrough came in 1991 with En Rasavin Manasile, which he also produced. The film was a box office success, earning him the Tamil Nadu State Film Award Special Prize.  

Rajkiran continued to make an impact with films like Aranmanai Kili (1993) and Ellame En Rasathan (1995), both of which had silver jubilee runs. After a brief hiatus, he returned with critically acclaimed performances in Nandha (2001) and Pandavar Bhoomi (2001), winning Tamil Nadu State Film Awards for Best Supporting Actor. His role in Thavamai Thavamirundhu (2005) earned him a Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor – Tamil.  

Apart from acting, Rajkiran has also directed films, showcasing his storytelling abilities. He played a lead role in Pa Paandi (2017), directed by Dhanush, and made his Malayalam debut with Shylock (2020), alongside Mammootty. His performances are known for their authenticity and emotional depth, making him a respected figure in Tamil cinema.  

With a career spanning over three decades, Rajkiran remains a versatile and influential actor, continuing to captivate audiences with his powerful screen presence.
