Santhosh Balaraj, a promising actor in the Kannada film industry, passed away on August 5, 2025, at the age of 34 due to complications from jaundice. His untimely demise has left Sandalwood in shock, mourning the loss of a talented performer whose career was just beginning to flourish.
Born and raised in Bengaluru, Santhosh was the son of renowned producer Anekal Balaraj, best known for the cult hit Kariya (2003). Following in his father’s footsteps, Santhosh entered the film industry with Kempa in 2009. Over the years, he carved a niche for himself with intense roles in films like Ganapa, Janma, Olavina Ole, and Kariya 2. His portrayal of gritty, emotionally layered characters earned him recognition among audiences and critics alike.
Santhosh was known for his dedication to his craft and his quiet, grounded personality off-screen. Despite being the son of a well-known producer, he built his career steadily, choosing roles that challenged him and showcased his range.
