Biography

Saurabh Sachdeva is a multifaceted Indian actor and revered acting coach whose journey from theatre to the big screen is as compelling as the characters he portrays. Born on September 24, 1978, in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, he began his artistic pursuit at Barry John’s Imago Acting School in 2001 and soon transitioned into teaching, shaping the craft of aspiring actors for over a decade.

Before gaining widespread recognition as an actor, Saurabh was already a behind-the-scenes force in Bollywood. He trained a generation of stars including Varun Dhawan, Richa Chadha, Triptii Dimri, Rana Daggubati, and Anushka Sharma. In 2017, he founded The Actor’s Truth, an acting institute in Mumbai that continues to mentor emerging talent with a focus on authenticity and emotional depth.

His breakout role came in the Netflix series Sacred Games (2018) as the menacing Suleiman Isa, which showcased his ability to command the screen with quiet intensity. Since then, he’s delivered memorable performances in Manmarziyaan, Laal Kaptaan, Vadh, Haddi, Kaala, and Bambai Meri Jaan. In 2023, he played Abid Haque, Bobby Deol’s brother, in Animal, a role that brought him mainstream acclaim.

In 2024, he won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Short Film (Male) for First Time, further cementing his reputation as a powerhouse performer. His upcoming projects include Pushpa 2: The Rule and Badass Ravikumar, where he continues to explore layered, often morally ambiguous characters.
