Biography

Shefali Jariwala, fondly known as the “Kaanta Laga Girl,” was a popular Indian actress, model, and television personality whose rise to fame reshaped the landscape of Indian pop culture in the early 2000s. Born on December 15, 1982, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Shefali pursued her education in Information Technology before the world of entertainment came calling.

Her life changed overnight with the release of the remix music video Kaanta Laga in 2002. The video became a national sensation, and Shefali’s bold and confident screen presence made her an instant icon. She went on to appear in films like Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and participated in reality shows such as Nach Baliye and Bigg Boss 13, where she garnered praise for her authenticity and outspoken nature.

Beyond the screen, Shefali was celebrated for her openness about mental health struggles, including her battle with epilepsy. She was a strong advocate for women's rights and mental wellness, often using her platform to speak on these issues.

Shefali was first married to Harmeet Singh of Meet Bros but later divorced and married actor Parag Tyagi in 2014. The couple was often seen sharing warm moments on social media and reality shows, symbolizing strength and companionship.

At the time of her passing in June 2025 at the age of 42 due to cardiac arrest, Shefali was still remembered as a vibrant, fearless performer. Her net worth was estimated at ?20–30 crore, built through a combination of modeling, acting, endorsements, and entrepreneurial efforts.
