Biography

Shruti Haasan is an acclaimed Indian actress, singer, and musician, known for her work in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi cinema. Born on January 28, 1986, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, she is the daughter of legendary actor Kamal Haasan and actress Sarika Thakur. Coming from a family deeply rooted in the film industry, Shruti developed a passion for acting and music from an early age.

She made her acting debut in Luck (2009) and later gained recognition with her performances in Anaganaga O Dheerudu (2011) and 7aum Arivu (2011), winning the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut – South. Over the years, she has starred in several successful films, including Gabbar Singh (2012), Race Gurram (2014), Srimanthudu (2015), Vedalam (2015), and Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire (2023).

Apart from acting, Shruti is an accomplished playback singer and has her own music band. She has lent her voice to numerous film songs and has performed internationally. Her versatility extends beyond cinema, as she has also appeared in Hollywood web series, including Treadstone (2019).
