Biography
Sudeep Modak is a Mumbai-based actor and director known for his extensive work in theatre and television. With over 20 years of experience, he has collaborated with industry stalwarts like Naseeruddin Shah, Sai Paranjpye, Ramu Ramanathan, Nishikant Kamath, and Jeff Goldberg, shaping his artistic journey.
Modak started his acting career at a young age, participating in children’s theatre workshops and later starring in Sai Paranjpye’s Doordarshan show Baldoot in 1998. His passion for dramatics earned him the Best Actor certificate in school, and he continued honing his craft at Mithibai College, performing in over 20 one-act plays. His deep understanding of acting was further refined through workshops with Chetan Datar, Neeraj Kabi, and Jeff Goldberg.
In addition to theatre, Modak has made a mark in television and short films, appearing in popular shows like Julun Yeti Reshimgathi, Eka Lagnachi Teesri Gosht, Crime Patrol, and Pyar Tune Kya Kiya. His short films, including Azaad, Chubbhan, and Lakshman Rekha, have been widely appreciated. He also directed the acclaimed play Ek Shoonya Teen, which was rated among the best plays of 2016. With a strong presence in acting, directing, and training, Sudeep Modak continues to contribute significantly to the Indian entertainment industry.
