Biography

Tanisha Kuppanda is a dynamic Indian actress known for her work in the Kannada and Tamil film industries. Born on August 10, 1990, in Kodagu, Karnataka, she pursued her education locally before diving into the world of acting. Her mother, Leela Kuppanda, owns a restaurant in Bengaluru called Appu’s 93 Kitchen, which Tanisha co-manages alongside her brother, Appu.

Tanisha made her cinematic debut with the Kannada film Kaarana in 2016 and quickly gained recognition for her performances in movies like Durga (2016), Hope (2022), Body God (2022), Undenama (2023), and Pentagon (2023). She also ventured into Tamil cinema with En Kadali in 2023. Her television career includes notable roles in Kannada serials such as Saakshi, Saptamatruka, and Ashwininakshtra, showcasing her versatility across genres.

In 2022, Tanisha was honored with the National Youth Gem Achievers Award by Yash International Awards, recognizing her contributions to the entertainment industry. However, her journey has not been without controversy. In November 2023, she faced legal action under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act for remarks made on Bigg Boss Kannada Season 10, which were deemed offensive by the Bhovi community.

Tanisha is also known for her outspoken stance on media ethics. In April 2023, she confronted a YouTuber who asked inappropriate questions about her film roles, asserting her dignity and calling for responsible journalism.

Beyond the screen, Tanisha enjoys dancing and cooking, reflecting her vibrant personality. Her blend of talent, resilience, and candor continues to make her a compelling figure in South Indian cinema.
