Kartik Aaryan’s much-awaited film Captain India has finally taken off. Kartik Aaryan has stepped into the role of a pilot in Captain India, marking another major shift in his filmography. The actor recently shared a picture from the sets in which he appears in a pilot uniform, accompanied by a message about being ready to “fly with the Maverick.”
The film's production began in London on September 1, 2026. The shooting schedule is expected to continue through the coming weeks, with the makers working toward a 2027 theatrical release.
While early reports described Kartik’s character as an Indian Air Force pilot, the film is rooted in the larger story of an Indian-led rescue operation. The narrative draws inspiration from the real-life Operation Raahat, adding a humanitarian and high-stakes dimension to the aviation drama.
Shimit Amin Returns To Direction
Captain India is particularly significant because it marks Shimit Amin’s return to feature filmmaking after a long gap. The director is best known for acclaimed films such as Chak De! India and Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year. His return has generated considerable anticipation among movie audiences.
Amin recently shared a heartfelt handwritten note for the team, thanking everyone for remaining committed despite the project's difficult journey. He praised the crew's energy and described their dedication as “magical.”
