Ranveer Singh’s much-anticipated film Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has opened to a thunderous response at the box office, setting new benchmarks in Indian cinema. The film, directed by Aditya Dhar, recorded an extraordinary first-day collection, with worldwide earnings estimated at around ₹200 crore including previews and advance bookings. This makes it one of the biggest opening days ever for an Indian film.
The craze began even before release, with paid previews on March 18 generating ₹44.25 crore. Advance bookings in India alone contributed ₹33.60 crore, while overseas pre-sales added another ₹75 crore. On its official Day 1, the film is projected to cross the ₹100–200 crore mark globally, a feat that places it in the same league as Baahubali 2 and Avengers: Endgame in terms of hype and box office dominance.
Despite its unusually long runtime of nearly four hours, audiences have thronged theatres in massive numbers. Over 10 lakh tickets were sold in India on the first day, proving that the film’s scale, star power, and gripping spy-action narrative have struck a chord with fans. The ensemble cast, featuring Ranveer Singh alongside Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, and Sara Arjun, has further amplified the excitement.
Industry analysts are calling Dhurandhar 2 a historic release, surpassing previous records set by blockbusters like Animal and Baahubali 2. However, sustaining this momentum will be crucial.
