Story
The film follows Anvesh (Sumanth Prabhas), a young engineering graduate in Hyderabad who is attempting to build a startup with his friends. His routine takes a romantic turn when he meets Mythili (Ananthika Sanilkumar), a Chennai-based girl.
Their relationship develops through messages, phone conversations and shared moments before they finally decide to meet. However, when Mythili visits Hyderabad, the simple romantic reunion quickly turns complicated.
What follows is a combination of friendship, confusion, comedy and suspense as Anvesh and his friends find themselves caught in an increasingly chaotic situation.
Sumanth Prabhas and Ananthika Impress
Sumanth Prabhas is one of the film's biggest strengths. His performance feels natural, particularly in the lighter portions, and he avoids overplaying the comedy. His easy-going screen presence makes Anvesh an immediately likeable protagonist.
Ananthika Sanilkumar also makes a strong impression as Mythili. She brings warmth and natural expressions to the character and shares comfortable chemistry with Sumanth. However, the screenplay could have given her character more depth and agency.
Friendship Is the Real Highlight
Interestingly, Romanchakam works better as a friendship comedy than a conventional romantic drama. The chemistry between Anvesh and his friends creates several entertaining moments.
The supporting cast, including Venkatesh Kakumanu, Mani Aegurla and Sai Sohan, adds energy to the proceedings. Narendra Ravi particularly stands out with his comic timing and expressive performance.
Second Half Brings More Energy
The film becomes more engaging once the story shifts from romance to chaos and suspense. Mythili's visit triggers a series of unexpected complications, forcing the characters to deal with problems created by their own decisions.
The second half therefore has better momentum than the opening portions, with situational comedy becoming the film's strongest weapon.
Music and Technical Aspects
Vasuki Vaibhav's music complements the youthful atmosphere, while the background score supports both the comedy and emotional sequences without becoming excessive.
The major weakness is the slow opening. The first half spends considerable time establishing the characters, startup track and relationship, making some conversations feel repetitive.
