Who Was Sumeera Rajput? Pakistani TikToker Found Dead Under Suspicious Circumstances

In a deeply disturbing incident that has shocked Pakistan’s digital community, Sumeera Rajput, a popular TikTok content creator, was found dead at her residence in the Bago Wah area of Ghotki district, Sindh, on July 26, 2025. Known for her engaging family and lifestyle videos, Sumeera had amassed over 58,000 followers and more than 1 million likes on TikTok.

 What Happened to Her?

According to initial reports, Sumeera’s 15-year-old daughter, who is also a TikTok creator, alleged that her mother was poisoned with tablets by individuals who had been pressuring her into a forced marriage2. The daughter claimed that this was not a natural death but a premeditated murder. A post-mortem conducted by local authorities confirmed poisoning as the cause of death, as stated by Ghotki SSP Muhammad Anwar Khetran.

Investigation & Arrests

Two suspects, Babu Rajput and Muhammad Imran, have been taken into custody in connection with the case. However, despite the serious allegations and autopsy findings, no First Information Report (FIR) has been registered yet. Police officials say the investigation is ongoing to determine the motive and whether foul play was involved3.

A Pattern of Violence Against Female Influencers

Sumeera’s death is the second high-profile case in recent months involving violence against female TikTokers in Pakistan. Just weeks earlier, 17-year-old Sana Yousaf was shot dead in Islamabad by a man who had been stalking her2. These incidents have sparked outrage and renewed calls for legal protections for women in digital spaces, especially those facing harassment and coercion.

 Public Reaction & Activist Demands

The tragic deaths of Sumeera Rajput and others have ignited a national conversation about gender-based violence, honour killings, and the safety of women online. Activists are demanding swift justice, stronger laws, and accountability from law enforcement. Many believe these cases reflect a broader systemic failure to protect women who challenge societal norms through their public presence
