The Centre has opened a nationwide public consultation to gather suggestions from students, teachers, parents and other stakeholders on reforms to India's public examination system. The initiative is being led by the High-Powered Task Force on Reforms in Public Examinations, headed by Nandan Nilekani. The panel is looking for ideas to make high-stakes examinations more secure, transparent and student-friendly.
The consultation gives students and other stakeholders an opportunity to share their experiences and recommend changes to the examination system. Suggestions may cover issues such as examination security, paper leaks, technology, transparency, accountability and reducing difficulties faced by candidates.

The consultation is open to a wide range of participants. Students and examination candidates, parents, teachers, academic institutions and other citizens can submit their views. The government has also invited suggestions from people who have direct experience with the public examination system.

Those who do not want to use the website can also send their suggestions through other official channels. Participants can call the toll-free number 1800-180-4747 or use WhatsApp at +91 78270 42830. The government has asked users to send “hptf” on WhatsApp to begin the process.

Last Date to Submit Suggestions
The deadline for submitting suggestions is September 13, 2026. Students, parents and teachers who want to participate should therefore send their feedback before the deadline.
