Bollywood actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood has reached Nepal to extend assistance to people affected by the devastating flash floods that have caused widespread destruction across the country. Sood arrived in Kathmandu with his team and relief supplies, including food and blankets, as rescue and rehabilitation efforts continue in the flood-hit regions.
The actor's arrival comes at a time when Nepal is facing one of its worst recent natural disasters. The floods, triggered by a glacier collapse on August 26, have caused a massive loss of life, left thousands missing and damaged roads, communication networks and infrastructure. Rescue teams are continuing their search for survivors, including workers believed to be trapped at hydropower projects.
Sonu Sood Begins Relief Efforts
Sood and his Sood Charity Foundation have begun providing essential assistance to affected communities. The actor has said that his efforts will not be limited to immediate relief and that his team intends to continue supporting survivors as they work to rebuild their lives.
Sharing glimpses of his visit on social media, Sood expressed solidarity with the affected families and emphasized that Nepal is not alone during the crisis. He also highlighted the heartbreaking situation faced by children who have lost their homes and families in the disaster.

Food, shelter, clothing and other essential supplies are urgently required in several affected areas, while rebuilding homes and restoring livelihoods will likely take considerably longer.
Sood has urged people around the world to come forward and support those affected by the disaster. He stressed that the scale of destruction requires collective efforts to help Nepal recover and return to normal life.
The humanitarian crisis remains severe. More than 1,000 people have reportedly died, while thousands remain missing and rescue teams face difficult terrain, damaged infrastructure and debris-filled tunnels. More than 11,000 people have been rescued so far, but major relief and rehabilitation challenges remain.
Sonu Sood's presence in Nepal has therefore become a symbol of solidarity as the country continues its difficult recovery. His commitment to providing immediate assistance and supporting rehabilitation has earned renewed praise from people across India and Nepal.
