Arrest at Trump National Golf Club
Authorities detained Jeanine John Taele on Monday after he was spotted taking photographs and videos of the golf club grounds, allegedly monitoring security-planning activities ahead of President Donald Trump’s scheduled visit. Deputies found a loaded magazine with hollow-point bullets in his pocket and a pistol in his vehicle. He was charged with carrying a concealed firearm and possession of prohibited ammunition.
Weapons and Notebooks Found
Detectives from the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force executed a search warrant at Taele’s residence. The raid uncovered:
Illegally modified AR-style rifle
.45-caliber pistol
Body armor
High-capacity magazines and ammunition
Radio signal devices
Multiple notebooks with writings described as “concerning statements”
Officials have not disclosed the exact contents of the notebooks but confirmed they referenced sensitive matters, including the White House.
Ongoing Investigation
The U.S. Secret Service and FBI are investigating whether Taele posed a direct threat to President Trump. While no credible evidence of an imminent attack has been identified, authorities stressed that the case remains active. Taele is also under investigation in connection with a separate robbery case in El Segundo.
