The Lok Sabha elections in 2024 are a significant event in India, shaping the country’s political landscape. On April 16, 2024, several states will head to the polls to elect their representatives. Let’s take a closer look at the states participating in this crucial phase:

  • 1. Assam: Assam will witness voting in five constituencies: Karimganj, Silchar, Mangaldoi, Nagaon, and Kaliabor.
  • 2. Bihar: Bihar, another key state, will have polling in five constituencies: Kishanganj, Katihar, Purnia, and Bhagalpur.
  • 3. Chhattisgarh: Three constituencies in Chhattisgarh—Rajnandgaon, Mahasamund, and Kanker—will cast their votes.
  • 4. Karnataka: A total of 14 constituencies in Karnataka will participate in the electoral process. These include Chikkodi, Belgaum, Bagalkot, Bijapur, Gulbarga, Raichur, Bidar, Koppal, Bellary, Haveri, Dharwad, Uttara Kannada, Davanagere, and Shimoga.

  • 6. Madhya Pradesh: Seven constituencies in Madhya Pradesh—Tikamgarh, Damoh, Khajuraho, Satna, Rewa, Hoshangabad, and Betul—will participate in the democratic process.
  • 7. Maharashtra: Maharashtra will have eight constituencies voting: Buldhana, Akola, Amravati, Wardha, Yavatmal Washim, Hingoli, Nanded, and Parbhani.
