Three new COVID-19 cases have emerged in Gurugram and Faridabad, raising concerns about the virus's persistence in the region. Among the infected individuals is a 31-year-old woman in Gurugram who had recently traveled to Mumbai, along with a 62-year-old man with no travel history. In Faridabad, a 28-year-old security guard from Sehtpur in Palla has tested positive after experiencing fever, cough, and cold for several days.
Health officials have placed all three patients in home isolation, closely monitoring their condition. Contact tracing efforts are underway in Gurugram to identify potential exposures, while in Faridabad, authorities are collecting throat saliva samples from Safdarjung Hospital to analyze the virus strain. The health department is actively working to curb the spread and prevent further infections.
Despite the spike in cases, experts reassure the public that the infections appear to be mild. The Union Health Ministry continues to monitor the situation, urging residents to follow preventive measures like masking in crowded areas, maintaining hand hygiene, and staying up to date with vaccinations to reduce transmission risk. While vigilance is necessary, officials emphasize that there is no cause for alarm.
