In a shocking turn of events, police have made a breakthrough in the murder case of Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi, who went missing during his honeymoon in Meghalaya. His wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi, along with three hired assailants, has been arrested in connection with the crime.
Raja Raghuvanshi and his wife Sonam arrived in Meghalaya on May 20, 2025, for their honeymoon. However, they were reported missing on May 23 while vacationing in the Sohra area. Authorities launched an extensive search operation, and on June 2, Raja’s decomposed body was discovered in a deep gorge near Wei Sawdong Falls.
Meghalaya Director General of Police (DGP) I Nongrang confirmed that Raja was allegedly murdered by three men hired by his wife. Sonam surrendered before the Uttar Pradesh police in Ghazipur, while the three assailants were arrested in overnight raids. The investigation revealed that Sonam had orchestrated the murder, hiring the men to eliminate her husband during their honeymoon.
Authorities suspect that Raj Kushwaha, allegedly Sonam’s lover, was the mastermind behind the murder. The three assailants—Vicky Thakur, Akash, and Anand—were reportedly involved in executing the crime. Investigators are now working to uncover the full motive behind the murder and the connections between the suspects.
Police are conducting further raids in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh to track down additional suspects linked to the crime. Meanwhile, Sonam’s family has denied all allegations, demanding a CBI probe into the case. The chilling details of this murder continue to unfold, leaving many unanswered questions.
The tragic murder of Raja Raghuvanshi has sent shockwaves across the country. As authorities dig deeper into the case, the revelations of betrayal and conspiracy make this one of the most gruesome and complex murder investigations in recent times.
