Special Train Between Hubballi and Kerala Announced for Sabarimala Devotees: 14 Trips to Benefit 7 Districts

In a welcome move for Sabarimala devotees, Indian Railways has announced a special train service between Hubballi in Karnataka and Kerala, aimed at easing travel during the pilgrimage season. The train will operate 14 trips, providing much-needed connectivity for devotees traveling from northern Karnataka to the revered Sabarimala temple in Kerala.

This special train service is expected to benefit passengers from seven districts across Karnataka, including Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Bagalkot, Belagavi, Koppal, and Ballari. With limited direct rail options to Kerala from these regions, the new route offers a more convenient and comfortable journey for thousands of pilgrims heading south.

The train will be equipped with sleeper and general coaches to accommodate a large number of passengers. Timings and booking details are expected to be released soon by South Western Railway, and passengers are advised to check the official IRCTC portal for updates. Authorities have also assured that safety and sanitation measures will be in place to ensure a smooth travel experience.

This initiative comes as part of Indian Railways’ broader effort to support religious tourism and seasonal travel demands. With the Sabarimala pilgrimage attracting lakhs of devotees each year, the Hubballi–Kerala special train is a timely and thoughtful gesture that will make the journey more accessible for many.
