It has been reported that a 3.3 km road is currently under construction between Ragigudda and Central Silk Board. The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) is planning to open a double-decker elevator, which is m-long, to the public in June. This is expected to solve the traffic problems in the Central Silk Board area. A senior official from BMRCL stated that the signal-free elevated road will benefit motorists traveling from BTM layout to KR Puram, Ragigudda to KR Puram, and Ragigudda to Electronic City.
Initially, it was announced that the road would be open to the public at the end of May. The double-decker flyover will divert vehicular traffic at the Central Silk Board Junction. Currently, more than 15,000 vehicles ply this route every hour. On March 17, a 2,520 cubic meter concrete slab was laid continuously for 42 hours. The slab now requires 28 days of curing, and it will be ready by April 15. After this, it will take some more time before the road can be opened to the public.
Five loops and ramps are being constructed at the Central Silk Board Junction, which will be operational from Ragigudda to Hosur Road, Ragigudda to KR Puram, HSR Layout to Ragigudda, BTM Layout from Ground Level to Flyover Road First Level and Flyover Road First Level from First Level to BTM Layout.
The Central Silk Board Junction Outer Ring Road (Phase 2A) and RV Road to Bommasandra Marg (Reach) will be the interchange of the BMRCL 2A route. The return road will be operational in December. This junction is considered to be the worst choke point in South India.RCL 2A route. The return road will be operational in December.
